The Jewish Vote is a vote for racial and economic justice in New York. This initiative is designed to advance systemic changes that result in concrete improvements in people’s everyday lives. We are inspired by Jewish tradition to fight for a sustainable world and a vibrant popular democracy with an equitable distribution of economic resources and political power. We must use every tool at our disposal to fight for a New York where all people are free and safe. One of those tools is The Jewish Vote.
The Jewish Vote is a sister organization to Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), the largest community-based participatory Jewish organization in New York State. With over 2,000 dues-paying members and three decades of organizing experience, JFREJ is one of New York’s most dynamic and high-impact grassroots organizations, and is a leader in battles to protect the rights of workers, expand the social safety net, hold the police accountable, and combat Islamophobia and antisemitism. JFREJ is also a leading voice in the Jewish Left, both nationally and internationally.
Scope Of Work:
- The Jewish Vote will participate in electoral campaigns, helping to elect true progressive champions who are accountable to voters, not donors;
- Build a movement of thousands of progressive Jewish New Yorkers committed to fighting for a just New York and vibrant popular democracy that serves the people, not Wall Street;
- Organize to ensure that the key racial and economic justice issues that matter most to our members and neighbors are prioritized in Albany; and
- Advocate in the legislative and budget processes at the city and state level in partnership with broader frontline coalitions for concrete changes that result in improvements in the lives of immigrants, low-income workers, people of color, and all New Yorkers.
The Jewish Vote is a project of Tides Advocacy.
